Stolen Songs in VG

Now I know it's sometimes REALLY hard to know what is stolen in vg - so lets make a list!

Actually its sometimes hard to tell in any genre - so this can be all stolen submissions..

Feel free to add links and I shall add them to an ever growing list :)

ya the list is pretty small so far but In the past we just flagged the users and they were banned entirely - I'm sure it will increase over time :P

and congrats everyone - my big list is now small again thanks to you guys - those people deleted their own songs out of shame, and others entire profiles were deleted by the higher ups! - it works! :)

There is, or was a song that was stolen of the Final Fantasy 8 boss fight by the black mages. I just spent awhile and couldn't find it anywhere, however I do remember seeing it not to long ago.

Yeah well, the Mortal Kombat "remix" made me feel pain inside brain ... deep inside. But the fact that it has 4.02 in score after 122 votes actually made me drop to me knees and cry meself a river.

So I dropped him a review.
And I hope he stumbles and fall into hell.

Im pretty new to this site, so any pointers on how to easily report abusers like this would be nice. Anything but writing a formal complaint to an admin that is.

You can report abusers to me - I am fairly OLD on this site and predate most if not all of the new mods - my news posts are connected to a higher collection of lists by the mods so anything here will eventually be reported to the higher ups.

The admins don't like to be complained to so we leave them alone.

And don't worry - we do tend to "take care" of crappy and stolen submissions, one way or another..

Still, the bright side is that this shows how popular your songs are, but still it's no excuse, as it also shows how patheticly useless these people are at making their own.

If I find any of your songs ever stolen, I'll be damned sure to let you know... in fact, you review the songs that were stolen from you.

Give as much evidence as possible (time, date and that) and they won't be able to complain. Someone did stole a song that I had on CD, i.e. a professional production and they suddenly deleted all "their" submissions =P

This brings me back to the stolen track which was pretty much a demo song from FL5 unedited and the guy who put it out had it featured in NG Audio Collab and a ton of other movies before he was found out

well.. doing a remix and using a songs existing vocals isnt stealing a song to me - as soon as they try to sell that song though its an issue. But since very little is actually profited off of on newgrounds - its no problem.

No my list only consists of songs that either have chunks of existing songs IN them, or are entirely someone elses work. If i was gonna bash everyone every single hip hop song would pretty much be on my list :P

i dunno about the last ones, people have commented that those are stolen too, but im 100% that the old ones, like Dancing Shinobi, Chocobo Time and One Winged Angel are from the FFVII Piano Collection, and the other ones like, Absolute J, Jeatey, Succes are form the FFVII Ost, they only have different names... people have noticed, and i even PMed Wade about it some time ago, but it didnt work...

I've been doing a tidbit of research. One thing. If the MK remix is stolen then how did the mods not catch it? It's his first song so it had to have been reviewed by someone.

So I can only wonder if it's not stolen. Maybe it is or maybe it isn't I honestly don't know.
